Notice those scratches that go right under the name plate? It must be a recent improvement. The guy (it had to be a guy, right?) was probably thrilled at finding it, maybe at a yard-sale. Or maybe he commissioned a petty criminal to go get him one, no questions asked.
OK, maybe this is a vacuum cleaner?
It does sort of look like my mother’s old Kirby! I should post those photos someday.
I have sort of a thing for fonts, and this is a very nice one. And the photograph is also very nice.
Thanks, Melinda. What struck me as being odd was that the car was not in very good shape but the nameplate looked brand new.
Very nice. I like words in images and the simplicity of this. And the contrast between the word and the texture of the car.
Thanks, Sync. I agree. Words in photos go beyond the definition of the word.
. . . it be no more . . . a silver ghost from a distant and recent past.
And who is left to mourn? Not I.

I’m not even sure why they put the name plate on the car before painting. It must be an easy swap to make but in any event, I’m glad he (?) did it.
