Thanks, E. I liked the shadows across the sewer cover. The real challenge is to try to get the subject to be a perfect circle without too much distortion. I’m not 100% successful with that.
Lightroom has can adjust perspective distortion, DxO’s ViewPoint does it for a lot more money. But, yeah, not easy when you shoot from above and want to avoid including your shoes.
I agree with Disperser. Number 2 is stunning. I usually avoid photographing something with a shadow crossing it. But you have made it work. The shadow doesn’t interfere with the sewer cover; it adds a complimentary layer. The colors are cool, too. Bravo.
Thanks, Linda. I find these covers irresistible. I’m impressed with the design and the fact that these things will last a very long time (30-50 years?).
You made an intriguing pair – I keep going back and forth, looking at the way they’re connected. And I too think the manhole cover with shadows is brilliant.
Ken, not sure why I have not been looking at your site(s) recently but I see so many great images I have been missing. And great to see glimpses of my old town.
Thanks, John. I’ve been looking at your site for the past hour. Wonderful images! I can’t seem to get re-subscribed, though. I see myself as a follower but I don’t get notifications. I’d love to follow. HELP!
The shot of the manhole cover is inspired. Good vision to see that and pair it with the cloud.
I’m sure that I am not the first to notice that you apparently drink a lot of Snapple. 🙂
I always like cloud photos, but am really impressed with the second photo. I would not have thought of that composition and lighting.
Now I see that it can work, and work well.

The sewer lid image is brilliant. Most of us walk past without a glance. Well done!
Thanks, Graybeard. I’m not sure what the covers look like in your country but I’d like to visit and find out for myself.

Thanks, Lynn. Yes, there is a connection. It’s a simple one, too. I look up. I look down.
🙂 If you say so.

Great! Looking at things with Miracle Eyes!
Thanks, bronlima.

Thanks, Steve. Snapple is made from the best stuff on earth. It says so on the label so it must be true.
